What is stewardship, evangelization & discipleship?

Stewardship, Discipleship and Evangelization can be BIG “Church” words that mean something different depending on who you ask. These three words aren’t too complicated, and although unique from one another also build on top of one another. The Heart of the Mission is tied very closely into these three words, and bringing people to Jesus through authentic relationships.

Strengthening Relationships.

Our life and the lives of others is the greatest gift the God has given us. We are a gift to each other, and we are called to love one another. Stewarding relationships in our lives helps us to recognize that others are a gift to this world, and they are an adopted child of God just as much as we are. We are called to love one another, and to help each other on the journey.

Boldly Growing Engagement.

We are called to “Go and Make Disciples”, but sometimes this call can be intimidating. When we boldly grow engagement we invite people into a deeper relationship with the bride of Christ, our Church. But it doesn’t stop there — we accompany them on the journey and take responsibility in helping them grow and live out their faith. This is making Disciples.

Connecting People to the Mission.

Evangelization is about storytelling! We have to know our story, His story and have a genuine desire to know others story. We oftentimes share what we have experienced, and find ways to relate with others by learning the stories and experiences of the people in our lives. It is through this personal connection that we can invite others to know Christ better.

“If we want to do anything in the Church, it has to start with each of us. It has to start in the interior life of who we are. That has to be intentional. Once we do that, as a Church together, we can go and make disciples.” Cande de Leon
